Atom B2 win in Barry’s Bay

The Cougars Atom B2 rose early on Saturday February 27th to set out for their day tournament in Barry's Bay. With coolers and gear loaded, off they went on the two hour drive to the Bay. As the first game was at 11am most were on the road by 7:30.

The first game of the day was against Petawawa. It was a fast paced game that would decide which pool the Cougars would play their other games in. After a tough battle, the Cougars were defeated 6-4 and moved into the B pool. Next game was at 2pm against Arnprior. After a lunch which the team enjoyed upstairs in the Community Centre, the Cougars were energized and skated to a 7-0 win over Arnprior advancing them to the Finals at 4pm.

The atmosphere was exciting as local residents wondered where "Gloucester" was and were intrigued that a team from Ottawa would make the drive to participate in their tournament. The Final game saw the Cougars facing off with the Eganville Eagles. Another fast paced game with the Cougars working hard and played their hearts out and were rewarded for their efforts with a 4-1 win!! The win was extra special to the team as some players were celebrating their first ever tournament win.
